AFIDA Watch

Research packs / Scope preview

Define the matter. Review the supporting records.

Proposed AFIDA research packs for business teams and counsel: matching records, reconciliation notes, and a source trail under your firm's identity.

Research packs are in preparation; purchases are not open. You may discuss a proposed scope. The public calculator is free and does not expire.

Founder Pilot

$750 proposed

Introductory review of one agreed holder or county. The matter, record limits, files, and delivery date must be agreed before any paid work.

County Pack

$1,500 proposed

Research on matching records within one selected county and report year. National dataset coverage does not make this a national deliverable.

Holder Pack

$2,500 proposed

A scoped review of one holder group across agreed counties. Name matches remain subject to reconciliation; they do not establish common legal identity.

Choose a starting question: holder tracing, county comparisons, or source checks. We discuss the appropriate pack and boundaries before any commitment.

Compliance assistance and supporting evidence

Use the free penalty calculator to frame a scenario, then request analysis of the filings, dates, interests, and value evidence supporting counsel’s compliance review. The current-policy and proposed-rule scenarios remain separate. Counsel determines applicability and legal conclusions.

What the dataset counts mean

The FY2024 dataset contains 49,548 filing records, 11,050 normalized holder-name groups, 2,560 distinct county FIPS areas, and 111 country/source-code categories. Special codes are included; these are not 111 sovereign nations.

The attorney-represented subset contains 22,320 records, 22,286 distinct Parcel IDs, and 3,930 normalized holder-name groups. Of those groups, 900 intersect the flagged population. This is a research universe, not a verified attorney contact list or a list of violations.

Research prompts, not legal findings

F1

Type 6 interests

Other interests, including possible long-term leaseholds, requiring instrument review. This code alone does not establish lease duration.

F2

Country attribution

998: no foreign investor listed. 999: no predominant country code. These are country/source categories, not deed-duration codes.

F3

Selected country affiliations

The screening script checks primary China, Iran, and Russia codes, plus secondary China. This is not a complete legal designation or control analysis.

F4

Energy name patterns

Energy-related owner-name patterns prompt land-use review. They do not establish actual property use.

F5

Varying country codes

Country attribution varies across records grouped under a normalized holder name. Matching names do not prove one legal entity.

F6

Value-field review

Purchase Price and Current Value are zero or blank. Estimated Value or other valuation evidence may still be available; this does not automatically block a calculation.

What this preview does

It describes proposed deliverables. Client-file uploading, automatic portfolio matching, interactive attorney filters, heatmaps, and downloadable exports are not offered as live features here. Name matching requires review; shared country links do not establish a common owner.
